Dr Mark Hoyle
Dr Mark Hoyle heads Gateley’s dispute resolution team in Dubai. He specialises in commercial dispute resolution, particularly through arbitration, including construction and infrastructure projects, real estate, joint ventures, international trade (both sales and transport), shipping, transnational disputes, private international law, interlocutory freezing and search orders, and other protective measures, and asset tracing. He is also a Chartered Arbitrator. Mark was awarded a PhD from the School of Oriental & African Studies (University of London).
Mark has over 25 years of experience practicing in the UAE, United Kingdom and Middle East in general. He has acted as counsel, expert, arbitrator and mediator in global high profile disputes. His court appearances in England & Wales include the High Court, Court of Appeal and House of Lords. In the Arabian Gulf, Mark has appeared in the DIFC Courts, Dubai World Tribunal and the Qatar International Court. He is frequently appointed as arbitrator in institutional and ad hoc arbitrations including arbitrations under the rules of International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC), DIFC/LCIA Arbitration Centre, the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce (ADCCAC), Cairo Regional Centre, IICRA (International Islamic Centre for Reconciliation & Arbitration), Law Society (England & Wales), and the LMAA.
In the Spring of 2017 LexisNexis awarded Mark ‘Author Excellence’ for his work in developing and maintaining the Arab Law Quarterly, and his articles and work on Arab law.
